I am the founder of Black Forest (previously known as Guten Torte). Every reader would like to know my background and wanting to know where my talents came from. I guessed I inherited my baking talents from my mother whom was a home baker years back. I learn the " Indonesian Kueh Lapis " from my mother and some of the butter cakes too. " Thank you mum" I also took up cakes lesson from Grace Home Cakes. Grace is a very patient and good teacher. I strongly reccommend those beginning to venture into the confectionary industry to approach her. Last but not least to Thank you to Grace for sharing her knowledge and experiences with me.
As for truffles, I learnt it during my part time job with Merkur (A very famous Swiss leading truffles kiosk in Switzerland). I would say my specialties are not just the cakes that I make but also the original Swiss Truffles. The next person I want to extend my thanks is to my beloved aunties whom has been very supportive in reccommending my cakes to all their friends and business associates. Nevertheless, my foster brothers and friends whom has always been so supportive.

As of April 2007, god sent me my godma whom has been very supportive to order cakes for all her coporate dealings. Thank you godma. She is a rather fierce looking lady from first glance, I am sure we have to put that up when working in a corporate environment. But once you get to know her, she is as jovial as can be. To recognise her, all the church members always tease her for her deliberate hair do. You may find her most of the time in Cut Above or either hanging around in Prada.
